Six months old and tied to a post outside a New York City firehouse. This is how little orphan Annie’s story begins. Her “hard-knock life” changed forever in October of 2016 when she arrived at Pets Alive.

A big, goofy puppy with sloppy kisses and no doggie manners, it didn’t take us long to realize that one of the biggest reasons for the lack of manners and learning was that she couldn’t hear us or the other dogs. She is completely deaf. Under the guidance of our trainers, volunteers have started working with Annie using hand signals. Annie has proven to be an A+ student and is ready for her Daddy Warbucks to come along and take her off to Easy Street!

Annie does require an experienced owner or one who is willing to come and work with our trainers to learn how to communicate with our sweet girl. And we should mention Annie is a rock star when it comes to doggie playgroup time. She takes cues from her canine friends with amazing skill.

Help Annie, one of our 12 Strays of Christmas, find her happily ever after this holiday season. Can’t adopt at this time? Share her story. AND GREAT NEWS!  Annie is one of three special needs animals that have been chosen by a supporter who will donate half of Annie’s adoption fee! So your adoption fee is 50% off!

Please donate to Pets Alive so we can continue to provide a safe landing spot and loving environment for strays in need. A donation today to our GENERAL ANIMAL CARE FUND will receive a matching donation towards our KENNEL BUILDING PROJECT thanks to our very special supporters Joe and Kelly Sicari.
