I retire in September, plan on moving to Naples, Florida and getting involved there with a shelter. Always wanted my own but just couldn't swing it financially. Glad things are working out for you. 'Course I am super vulnerable right now, having just raised a litter of newfie/border collie pups that all got adopted through Pets Alive, and I am still kind of raw. I found the story actually rather comforting. It helps to know that you folks are there, feeling, and caring so deeply, and sharing it... It really does. I found it cathartic. I've been puppy raising hearing dogs for almost 5 years now. It always hurts a little to turn them in. There's also a lot of pride when a dog gets certified and goes on to make someones life better.
