Hi. Regarding MORGAN the cat - I mentioned a possible Hyperactive Thyroid for another of your cats, which of course your vet had thankfully, already checked for. Again, I am sure that MORGAN has been tested for the same thing, but my cat had such similar symptoms. She was eating 5 or 6 cans of Fancy Feast a day and still crying for more. The litterbox needed to be changed every few days. She ate like a horse but kept losing weight. She was recently diagnosed with a Hyperactive Thyroid and is now on
Methimazole. The difference is amazing. We are still adjusting the dosage, but her appetite is fairly normal and she is gaining weight. She will need 2 pills a day for life, but I break the pills into pieces and hide it in her moist food. Most of the time she doesn't catch on. :)
Best wishes to MORGAN!

Tim;

If anything, rest assured your Mother's life long dream had not been forgotten; if anything it has grown stronger and has the strength of many behind the organization due to the efforts continued by Kerry, Matt, and all those who assist. Unfortunately, I never met your Mom and during her animal welfare network since up until the year prior to her demise, I never knew PA was even there--until I began seeking for local Sanctuaries!

I am in an adjacent County and through learning of your Mom's devotion to animals and her personal sacrifices; interest has been generated and synergy created to support her wishes and continues among those who love animals.

Many silently support PA and their mission, gaining support is do-able on so many levels. One salient sentiment held among animal lovers is we have no boundaries of how much we are willing to help either a person or animal!

Kerry, Matt, and all involved have fulfilled and continue to fulfill the expectations of their roles!

Well wishes to you all...I am here if you need.

Hey, it is Tim, Sara's son. I watched my mother build that organization, struggle through years of inadequate funding, insufficient help, and little to no consideration from the Animal Rights community. The fact that you have all pulled together to continue her work is very reassuring. It cannot go on without facing its share of adversity and struggles, this is the nature of the self-absorbed "Human Condition", sad to say. The facts are that you're all doing a job that, from its inception, was never quite appreciated, so I salute you. However; to continue, as a team, with a group of wealthy supporters is not quite as difficult or uncertain. It was far more taxing on one lone woman who sacrificed her life, family and friends all to keep these animals alive and out of harms way.
She deserves to be Praised, Appreciated and Respected! All of you are only able to do what you do, WHERE you do it because of Sara Whalen, the Founder of Pets Alive. DON'T forget where this all began, and try to keep going in the same spirit. I wish you all the best of luck, Keep In Touch.

Have you tried homeopathy? I have continued success with it -most recently one of my male cats seems cured from 'inflammatory bladder disease' (read: western medicine has no clue). Over a year ago my standard vet suggested we keep him on antibiotics constantly (even thought WBC's were normal) and I said no. I found a homeopath and we tried a couple of different remedies - and all is well. It's been quite a few months since he was symptomatic.

Good luck!

Sara was my mother, and though we had a tough time relating to one another, I am very grateful to see that her life's work did not end with her passing. She was a unique human being, and her heart was undeniably kind. I was not able to attend her memorial, but regardless, I am sure her spirit is finally at peace, as it deserves to be. My Mother is out there, part of something better, and still chain smoking.....
I miss her dearly, and wish that those who remember Sara never forget her dedication and devotion towards the rescue agency she created. Rest Easy Ma, I love You.

HI folks,

Greetings from Tracy, California. I have a long chain of connections with the Humane Society of San Francisco and SE Idaho, where I grew up. I was forwarded the article about Matchbox 20 cancelling an appearance when they found out it was at a rodeo. They now have a new fan. As do YOU folks. My tears are still coming down to read of your love, respect and dedication to the welfare of God's creatures. Man is the cruelest animal upon this earth. Why he finds pleasure in the abuse of the defenseless is something I will NEVER understand. Please know that YOU folks also have a new fan......in ME. I will bookmark your site and keep tabs on your adventures. I wish you the best and remember that every purr and every wag of a tail is a happy thank you. You folks are wonderful........

Hiya Erin,
We could really use EITHER! A tent with just a top and no sides could be used when we go to fairs or small events to cover the table and provide some shade, while one with sides could b used at larger events and we could protect our caged cats and crated dogs better. Any kind of tent could be used! Thanks for thinking of us!

Oh my God, I laughed so hard when you wrote "We can now drive down the driveway again without losing a wheel!!" You could have charged admission to drive that road, it'd be a lot cheaper than 6 flags! And the money would go to a good cause, of course. :)
What size tent are you looking for? Do you want something with just a covering on the top, or something on the sides too? Email me, I saw one not too long ago at a decent price... although I don't remember where.... hmm...

Matt, you know we could always have a bake sale, or we can have a donations jar at the liqour stores to help with raising money for Pets Alive. Just a thought to help.
